Fasteners Silicon Bronze

SILICON BRONZE

An alloy made of 95% – 98% copper, plus small amounts of silicon added for strength. Small amounts of manganese, aluminum, and other              elements may be added.

Silicon Bronze is none magnetic, with a high degree of thermal conductivity, and high corrosion resistance against sea water, gases, and sewage .Used in the marine, chemical, electrical, and other industries.

Our silicon bronze inventory is manufactured from alloy 655 or 651. For the most part our screws, nuts, washers, threaded rod, and nails are alloy 651. All bolts, unthreaded rod, and plate are alloy 655.

The difference between 655 and 651 in silicon bronze is  655 has a larger amount of silicon, and a small amount of nickel, which adds to it’s strength.
