Silicon Bronze Carriage Bolts
Our carriage bolts are made of silicon bronze alloy 655 which offers higher corrosion resistance. The bolts are manufactured one at time. The end of round rod is placed in a heat inductor until it reaches the correct temperature. It is then headed, cooled, cleaned, and threaded with a die. This procedure provides the bolt with a full body. The advantage of a full body bolt is that it will seal the clearance hole.
A carriage bolt is measured from under the head to the bottom of the bolt. The threading is twice the diameter plus ¼” to ½”. 10” bolts are threaded 2”. The threaded formula may vary slightly.
